Craftsman Router – Carver

The primary function of the Craftsman Router – Carver (i.e., Craftsman Router – Recreator) is to produce three dimensional duplication of objects.  Additionally, it does an excellent job of reproducing signs from an existing sign or drawing.  It is capable of carving two dimensional plaques and can turn a simple piece of rectangular or round stock into a decorated spindle.

This Craftsman Router-Recreator includes a Rockwell Model 64M, Type 1 (0.56 peak horsepower) router.

The router-reccreator uses a matched set of a router bit and stylus.  The stylus follows the topography of the three dimensional item being duplicated, and the router bit cuts away at the block of material to produce the final product.  Matched sets (router bit and style) for use with the Craftsman Router-Recreator can be seen at the following website:
